delivery driver claiming to have left parcel here..

i had a knock on the door earlier from a neighbour who ive never met. quite a few doors away saying she had a card saying her parcel was left at my address. i hadnt been in all day and had not taken any parcels in and have not done so in months anyway. im now thinking they are going to think ive stole it! the card cleary said my door number im not sure why they would write that when i didnt take it in. has anyone had this happen?

Not quite the same but I had a delivery driver say I’d signed for a parcel I hadn’t received. My initials were signed. I could prove I was in a different part of the country at the time of the delivery. Then the delivery driver said he had taken my parcel to a neighbour who had signed for it but then changed their mind about taking it so he left it on my step. The shop didn’t believe him anymore than I did and a new parcel was sent. Hope you’re neighbour gets their parcel.

seems very random as im about 8 doors away. just not sure why they would pick my number.
