Really unsure about what to do here and feeling very awkward - please advise!
DM has a very close friend who has a younger, very close relation. I have heard about her for years but only recently met her. I strongly disliked her for a variety of reasons (being extremely rude to waiters, very obnoxious and monopolising 99% of the conversation talking about herself when there were 4 of us there). The problem was that about 5 minutes into meeting her she handed me her phone and asked for my number. I hadn't formed an opinion of her then as we had only just met, and anyway would have been uncomfortable saying no. So she got my number.
She has now started messaging me. I have been ignoring them but she keeps messaging and I really do not know what to do. My mother's friend even messaged my mother to say "Crispy hasn't replied to XYZ". I don't want to reply because it will end up with 100 messages and her wanting to meet. DH thinks I should just reply very slowly to any messages. DM thinks she should just tell her friend I didn't like her. What is the best way of handling this situation without upsetting anyone?
AIBU to just not reply?
