Taking baby on friend dates?

Since having a baby, I've found a change in my friendships so have been making a conscious effort to make more mum friends. Its fine at groups but I tend to see them there every week then have a coffee after and it's just that really. So I decided I'd expand those groups by joining specific apps for making friends, some specifically for mums, some not. I don't have childcare so often want to meet weekends or evenings when my DH is around to look after my infant, as the other person's kids are sometimes at school, with their other parent or being looked after by someone else. My DM and DH have said for those who I'm meeting up with, even for the first time, it's fine to take my baby along.

AIBU to think that DM and DH are just wrong in that view?

Meeting up with another mum during the day at the weekend, I’d say babies would be expected unless you specifically agree it’s child free. Meeting up with someone that doesn’t have children during the day, perhaps better to leave the baby with DH but I don’t think taking them would be a huge faux pas either. Anything in the evening I’d interpret as no kids.
