To have expected my deposit back?!

Paid £100 damage deposit for a weekend rental.

It was over a week ago now and not heard anything. Surely the owner should have been in contact by now?

We definitely didn’t but surely if we had you’d expect them to contact us to say they won’t be refunding etc
