Not sure where this should go so posting for traffic as they say...
To be honest this didn't start out about accessible facilities for me but I'll just tell my story and see if anyone can advise where to direct my fury...
On holiday in mainland Europe, driving home from a theme park we stop at an international fast food outlet. DH takes the baby to change his nappy, there's no baby change in the gents, we query and he is told to use the ladies. So this gets my back up, the assumption that women are the ones changing nappies, that women are happy sharing the ladies with a guy changing a nappy. Everyday sexism etc.
Once we're on our way we realise there wasn't an accessible toilet (which in UK branches of this fast food company is usually where the baby change is located).
We have been to a few other restaurants and cafes on this trip (independents) and I realise again there's no accessible toilet. What do people who need these facilities do here?
I have contacted the international chains customer service but haven't heard back yet. Would writing to my MEP be any use? I just feel I should do something as the more I think about it the angrier I get...
Been here for a while but new username as ranted to friends about this already...
