Who is BU here?

Person 1: Do we need anything else from Tesco
Person 2: Green top milk and instead of pitta see if they have flatbreads like the ones we got last time

Person 1 comes home with milk, pittas and seeded buns (which we do get time to time)

P1 Are these right?
P2 No I said flatbreads instead of pittas
P1 You were talking quietly on the phone soI couldn’t hear

I won’t say what the conversation was after as it will give it away

I can't get worked up over bread, life is too short.

SoddingUnicorns · 08/06/2018 19:46

Neither, it was a misunderstanding.

Cleanermaidcook · 08/06/2018 19:47

They went to the shop and got milk and bread, I'd be grateful.

Phosphorus · 08/06/2018 19:47

No one was unreasonable, it was a minor misunderstanding.

Eddy436 · 08/06/2018 19:47

Person 1

Sorry did you say pittas or flatbreads...i didnt hear.

Problem solved.

Ginger1982 · 08/06/2018 19:47

YABU for thinking this is worth posting about...

BoneShaker · 08/06/2018 19:47

P2 should probably have stuck to saying what they wanted rather than what they didn't want.

Neither sounds unreasonable though. It was a mix-up.

Smellyoulateralligater · 08/06/2018 19:48

P2 is BU. :)

PurpleDaisies · 08/06/2018 19:49

Is it really a big deal? Pitta or flatbread?

Knittedfairies · 08/06/2018 19:50

So there’s bread and milk in the house now? Result.

TooTrueToBeGood · 08/06/2018 19:50

You're being unreasonable for posting about it.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 08/06/2018 19:51

Well, P2 said "see if they have flatbreads" anyway. So surely they were prepared for the possibility that they might not have flatbreads. Pittas seem like a reasonable substitute.

WeShouldBeFriends · 08/06/2018 20:14

Oh dear. Are you pregnant OP? That's the only time this kind of thing would have bothered me.

Octopeppa · 08/06/2018 21:21

P2 should ask P1 to ask for clarification next time they can't hear something.

ErictheGuineaPig · 08/06/2018 21:24

If such a non event turned into a significant argument then you have more to worry about than the wrong type of bread. Nobody was unreasonable here - one person just didn't hear/misunderstood. Its bread, not vital medication so hardly life or death communication.

PurpleDaisies · 08/06/2018 21:28

P2 should ask P1 to ask for clarification next time they can't hear something.

Was it really that critical that it needed a call or text back for clarification?

user1493413286 · 08/06/2018 21:30

In theory person one should have clarified but they obviously tried their best so I wouldn’t make an issue of it

BottleOfJameson · 08/06/2018 21:49

Agreed with PP, minor misunderstanding not worth another moments thought.

Octopeppa · 08/06/2018 21:50

No, no need to call or text back, it's just bread. But surely if you can't hear what someone said, you ask, not just guess? Confused
