Random socks or shoes on the side of the road. Do people rip one off in a huff and toss it out of the window?
Is this where the washing machine monster takes out socks to spread a trail to guide other sock monsters where to go?
I could understand it when we had discarded cassettes on the side of the road as there was nothing more irritating than one getting chewed in the player and then lobbing it out of the window in temper.
Shoes though? Surely you notice if you lose one?
