dottypotter · 07/06/2018 12:45

The other day i was talking to someone who knows me well (older person) and they said are you planning to get married to xxxxxxx or are you and xxxxx getting married cant remember exactly.

Anyway they then said sorry for asking?

Should they be sorry
should they ask

Do you get this and what do you say if you have no plans to get married?

Depends on how close you are to the person. A stranger should not ask, a best friend or mum might

I'm not sure what you're asking actually - but I suppose they said sorry for asking as they realised it's a bit of a nosey question.

If you have no plans to get married I would just say that - the reasons why are your business.

Not sure why this is a problem. Yes they can ask. No they don't need to be sorry. You just say "no plans atm", with a smile.
