App Issues...Accessibility is Shockingly Bad (colour scheme/font size)

I have visual issues and my wife is registered blind (can see a couple meters with one eye and nothing with the other). I have double vision due to Myasthenia Gravis.

The app is fantastic and it's far easier to use than going through the site.

*BUT AIBU....
*

  1. To be able to view and sent private messages from the app?
  1. The colour scheme - despite being able to change background colour, threads and posts are black text on a white background. This is hell for us to deal with.
  1. Font size - why, why, why can we not increase font size. This is perhaps the most frustrating... we are fed up and pissed off having to hold a tablet in front of our faces (and try doing that with arthritis and myasthenia...).

Rant over - hopefully someone at MN will see it...

Hi SimplySteve,

Thanks so much for the feedback.

Are you okay for us to move your thread over to site stuff so that we can raise with our developers?

Also, could you let us know whether it's the android or IOS app you're referring to here?

SimplySteve · 07/06/2018 21:57

Sure, move away. It's the iOS app. I'm running iOS 11.4 on a 2017 iPad.

I'm very passionate about accessibility, especially on the web and I am genuinely shocked at the solutions being rolled out across the whole shebang, from one-man bands to huge corporations. These shenanigans have to stop.

I have a history in web strategy, coding and management, which I think pertains to how strongly I view this issue.

If I can be of any assistance with regards to accessibility, testing solutions, gathering anonymous user data via surveys simply give me a yell. I'm bedbound disabled, so don't work, so I have some time I could invest.
