If there's any stuff left over, do you get to keep it, hand it over or do you have to throw it away? Food, stuff in the fridge
Does it make a difference if you're working privately or for a large holiday firm e.g Centre parcs

Sorry I can’t answer your specific thread, but in private caravans I’ve often found stuff like washing up liquid, salt and vinegar etc.

I’ve stayed at Haven a couple of times and have never found others left over stuff so I think they must have to throw it or keep it.

Yes, I think independent homes the cleaners are more likely to keep the useful stuff.

I've done it a couple of times when regular cleaners were away and yes, we've been told to take any food that has been left by the previous guests. So not things like salt and pepper which are provided by the owners and replenished when necessary, but anything else was ours. As far as I recall this only happened once, and we ended up with a massive haul. But if we'd left it it would have been thrown out, in all likelihood, by the next visitors, as there would have been nowhere in the kitchen to put their own food.

That was an independently-owned cottage.

When self-catering abroad, we left a note for the maid service to take anything they wanted.

I take home anything that's been opened and leave anything unopened and in date in the cupboards. Any fresh produce comes home. Had a massive, massive box of stuff the other week, I've no idea why they left so much of it behind, as they were in their own car and not flying.

I work at a B&B and boss says I can keep anything left!!
