my lovely dh was installed in front of the tv downstairs for a day of football so i decided to put armageddon on whilst i did my ironing - now i have seen this countless times (i even watched it 3 nights in one week ) however i still cannot stop from crying at the ending - i mean the whole time from when "harry" shoves "aj" back in the shoot to detonate the bomb to the wedding at the end! I can't even blame being hormonal! anyone else or is it just me?????????

Me too, whats the other film like that where the 2 teenagers end up on a hill with the kids? and the woman on the beach with her Dad?

WK007 · 20/05/2007 23:23

The other one was Deep Impact and I cry buckets at both of them - shows I'm still alive I spose!

MrsWho · 20/05/2007 23:28

I knew someone would get it from that cr*p description!

Yeah that makes me bawl!

WK007 · 20/05/2007 23:30

I love the bit where she thinks he's gone but he comes back on the bike and takes her and the baby - but the first time I watched it I was thinking 'oh god, the baby's going to fall off'

MrsWho · 20/05/2007 23:36

me too!

WK007 · 20/05/2007 23:45

Funny isn't it, ever since dd was born I have very little sympathy for adults (in films) and it increases the younger the character gets. So I can watch a film where 100 middle aged people get killed without too much hassle but one baby gets put in danger and I've got the Kleenex out.

essanel · 20/05/2007 23:56

ooohh deep impact was good too! WK007 i know what you mean - don't know if you watch er but the time when abby and luka were having their baby bucketloads of tears and also in desperate housewives where gaby lost the baby and finally lets go of a balloon bubbling like a baby!

Aw ...
Reading the OP, I was thinking, "Oooh, I must get Armageddon out on DVD" as I haven't seen it yet.

Then you mentioned Deep Impact . That has to be the most pants film ever created in the history of movie making, surely? ...

So, if you say it is like Deep Impact I won't be watching Armageddon so I can't comment if YABU ...

Ho hum ... never mind ...

But I do see your point about crying over little things on tv once you have children ... I cry watching wildlife programs fgs

essanel · 21/05/2007 13:44

Ghosty - i did think deep impact was good but only have seen it once armageddon is FAB totally different to deep impact(apart from the fact the both of them have huge metorites ready to hit earth) - my dh keeps telling me he is going to have to buy me a new dvd cos I've watched it so many times!!! LOL at the animal cracker bit!

Always makes me cry too. Makes me think of how awful I would feel knowing either my dad or DH had to give his life to save the world!!! Usually watch it after a few glasses of wine, which doesn't help .

DarrellRivers · 21/05/2007 14:09

love it
makes me sob

americantrish · 21/05/2007 14:51

it's a cheezy movie, but i cry too

ghosty · 21/05/2007 22:53

Oooooh ... you are talking of the film with Bruce Willis where he goes up onto the meteorite to save the world?
Yes, I have seen it ... cheesy as anything - but a real sobworthy one ....
Way better than DI of which Morgan Freeman should be ashamed
