To try to return a ridden bike to halfords?

I bought a new bike. I have ridden it once. I hate it. Nothing wrong with it, I just wish I'd got a different type. I have had it for 24 hours. No marks or damage but obviously the wheels show they've been ridden.

Am I wasting my time? I would be looking to upgrade to a more expensive bike from them.

I know it's not their fault, entirely mine. Just wondering if anyone has had any luck doing this.

I’m not sure, Halfords do let you try them out so they may be reluctant if you didn’t do that. When you say the wheels do you just mean the tyres? Give them a clean up and see what they say. You can only ask.

Do they offer some kind of guarantee? If not, if it's not faulty i can't see them exchanging it. Also for them to re-sell it it would have signs of use, so they wouldn't be able to get full price.

returns policy

I'd ring and discuss it

IWantMyHatBack · 03/06/2018 13:03

You could ring them and ask, speak to the manager and explain you would like a different one. You might have to pay to replace the tyres? Worth a shot

TrudeauGirl · 03/06/2018 13:04

Ring them and ask them for their policy Smile

Think if it was you buying that bike.Would you want to pay as much for one that had been ridden?

Omega1 · 03/06/2018 13:45

No, of course not. But I suppose clothes shops take things back that have been tried on.

Tried on is one thing, but that's in a changing room for 5 minutes. How far how long did you ride this bike? Sounds like veering into CFery to me.

Butterflykissess · 03/06/2018 13:48

I wouldn't compare it to cloth es. It's more like wearing shoes outside for the day then trying to return them. It wouldn't be allowed .

The bike is second hand now
