Since the new law came into place there’s a message that greets you the first time you go on a site that states how the site uses analytics to personalise ads and stores cookies and gives an option to manage the number of background programs on the site and what they can do or have access to. Are you paying attention and reading up on this or just clicking accept?

I have started clicking dont accept sometimes to see what happens.

Butttons · 03/06/2018 10:02

The cookies message thing has been going for ages though hasn't it?
In my experience if you click no, you are taken to a more basic, sometimes less userable site.

It's so annoying all these extra things to click that I don't understand, on every website I visit, or emails about "policies" like I give a stuff or could understand what they are saying in legalese. I am not better informed (or protected) at all. Sigh.

Thank goodness for itunes, can find a lot of things there now off-limits via American websites.

BettyBaggins · 03/06/2018 12:29

I am not noticing a difference this time round yet. When I have not accepted in the past it has sometimes made the website visited a bit less usable or simplified.
