I live in a flat. The guy who lives above me has been playing guitar on and off ALL DAY. It's still going and I can't sleep.

Would I be unreasonable to leave a note in his letterbox telling him to STFU in future?

Yes, ask if he can keep the noise down after eleven. Is he at least any good?

'I'm sure you didn't mean to disturb the rest of the building and hadn't realised but our flats aren't actually very sound proof and I was kept awake all evening by your guitar practice, please in future keep it down and to more sociable hours'
