ask for quick help: fancy dress

DN is going to a fancy dress party this afternoon and has a cheap plastic full face mask like this kind of thing:

www.funpartystore.co.uk/red-spiderman-marvel-super-hero-mask.html

It has no hole for the mouth and he says its too hot. I've tried it on and because there is no mouth hole it gets very warm as the breath is all contained.

Can I make a hole in it or ventilate it? How? I don't want to spoil the mask and he's set on this costume.

Any ideas? It's this afternoon!

He won’t be wearing it for long anyway, they tend to take them off as soon as they start running about. So if he can stand it leave it as is, or cut a hole if he’s really bothered

How can I cut a hole though? Its cheap plastic. worried it will split or cause a rough/sharp edge that will cut him.

Help pls

Heat up a nail or skewer an melt a couple of holes in a line for the mouth?

NaMajesty · 02/06/2018 14:16

@MadgertheBadger could you cut it with a Stanley knife and then maybe use a nail file to make the edges less sharp?

MadgertheBadger · 02/06/2018 14:27

ah - heating up a pin/skewer is a good idea.
I'm worried a knife will cause a split.

has anyone done this before?
