I'm 18 weeks pregnant. For the past 6 weeks or so I have needed to pee all the time (sometimes every 15 minutes), has pain in my bladder region, peeing really small amounts at a time, feeling pretty rough and wanting to sleep all the time. I've only ever had miscarriages before and never got past 6 weeks so don't know what it's like to be pregnant. I put these symptoms all down to pregnancy. Turns out I had a uti, which is now a nasty bladder and kidney infection. Apparently my midwife should have sent off a urine sample but she only tested it in the office. Never sent for tests for utis. I've now been told as I'm quite unwell I need to be monitored and so does my baby. I feel like such a fool and that I've put my baby's health at risk. I've never had a uti before or a kidney infection... feeling really stupid.

Not your fault. Every pregnancy’s different, even in the same person. You might not have realised even if you had had ten kids.

Thanks @Mirrorwriting - I feel like I should've known. Pregnancy is such an anxious time...

No, your midwife should have picked up on it. It's not your fault. And you're being treated now.
