About to spend small fortune on plastic rattan - can’t decide between a round table and chairs or L shaped sofas? What have you got?

We've got a "formal" deck with nice table and nice chairs for sitting up. And then the chilled patio with rattan furniture; L-shaped sofa, a couple of stools, glass topped table. We use the sofa and glass table more than the fancy chairs and round mosaic table.

We had this same dilemma a few weeks ago and went for the round table with chairs option. We have young children and like eating outside to eat in the summer so it was more useful to us.

Do you have to put the sofa cushions inside when it rains?

not sure can be arsed

*sitting outside to eat

Yes the sofa cushions unfortunately.

We got the L-Shape sofa and table option with a couple of stools, we store the cushions in a massive bag we got off ebay, it unzips you stack them in and zip it up again - we keep it in the garage. We only have the cushions out when we are actually using it which is mainly weekends for us - so not too much trouble.
It amazingly comfortable, we've had ours almost and do not regret at all, previous to that we had table and chairs - they were ok but the rattan furniture is much more comfortable. As regards to eating, you just sit up - but I'd do that anyway I don't lean back when eating.

Well yes of course Smile, and neither do I (eat leaning back). It’s just easier for my 2 and 4 year olds to have proper high back chairs.

Round table and highbacked recliners here. We do have full cushions that live in a huge bag in the shed.

L shaped sofa and oblong table. Great for lounging on. Definitely would go for that as opposed to a round table and chairs.

Thanks for great input. Patio can only fit one or other (table/charis or sofa etc) - think we're veering (?) towards the sofa saw a nice set in John Lewis with little stools.
