Stain on holiday let- help!

Posted here for traffic.

Our lovely holiday let has a beautiful white lacquered table in the lounge.

Left a packet with normal design on it, somehow the ink has transferred to the very shiny surface and now we have the lovely imprint of a bandage advertising on the table.

We have tried everything. Bleach, scrubbing, dry wipe pen, nothing is taking it off. What can we do?

hairspray removes permanent marker.

Maybe one of those magic eraser sponges?

SoupDragon · 31/05/2018 13:42

(The magic erasers might not be good for a very shiny surface though)

White spirit will remove it.

Alcho wipes remove anything therefore try vodka or similar?

Tried nail varnish remover, bleach, anti bac, scrubbing etc. It seems to have got in the varnish 😧 so I think we might be paying for it....

Try biological laundry liquid. Apply neat and rub in gently with a finger tip. Leave for 10 mins and wipe away. Repeat if needed.

Could you move it out into the sunlight and give that a try. Depending on the sun there it might bleach it out over a hot afternoon.

PlateOfBiscuits · 31/05/2018 17:47

I had this issue once in a flat I rented. I’m so sorry though OP I didn’t ever find a solution - I just moved flats!

Nothing took it out in the end. It was fused in the varnish! Will wait and see if they claim it back.
