I posted about this before but have had a bit of an update since and needed advice. I bought a phone on eBay. Was estimated to arrive Saturday-monday (I paid thursday 2 weeks ago) on monday it still hadn't arrived. I checked ebay an d noticed it had not been dispatched. I asked the seller when they would be posting. No response. 2 days later I opened a case. EBay said the seller had till the 30th to respond before they would step in . On the 25th the seller added "postage information" despite me requesting a refund when I opened the case. anyway by the 30th still no item. This was when I could ask ebay to step in, which I did. EBay reviewed th e case and decided the seller hadn't provided adequate postage informat ion. And decided in my favour issuing me a refund. I have now received a messAge from the seller, the first message they have sent to me in this whole time (ignored all my messages) stating they now have proof they sent the phone and are going to ask ebay to charge me again for it! Like wtf? I haven't received it and they had 2 weeks to sort it (that's how long it's been since I won) can they do this? The case has been closed with ebay.

As a seller I can tell you that Ebay ALWAYS favour the buyer so you have nothing to worry about.

The case is closed, eBay can't go back in that. Did you pay by PayPal?

Thehop · 31/05/2018 12:14

They can ask what they want. eBay/PayPal side with buyer so I very much doubt this seller will get anywhere. TAKe your refund out of PayPal so it can’t be put on hold.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 31/05/2018 12:15

Have you got your money back? I imagine if Ebay found in your favour after the time limit and closed the case then that’s the end of it. Maybe unlink your PayPal/debit card etc from eBay until/in case you hear from them?

I just paid through ebay not paypal. Would that make a difference?

Just ignore them.
You have your refund, it can’t be recalled.
You have nothing to worry about.

Unless they can prove it was delivered they cannot do anything. If they prove to eBay it was delivered eBay could give them their money back, but that would come out of eBay's pocket. The other alternative is they could take you to the small claims court, again if they can prove you have received it (but that proof would have to be far greater than a tracked parcel showing as signed for).

I've not signed for anything and it definitely didn't arrive. It's worryin g me that they have my address in case they show up! It's put me off ebay that's for sure. EBay decided that their postage information wasn't adequate it literally just said "royal mail" no tracking number or anything.
