A letter has just gone out to parents from my nieces school re their forthcoming end of year play (I'm in Ireland so schools breaking up shortly):

When arriving at school hall -

No seats can be reserved in the first six rows
No more than two seats can be reserved by any one group
Five minutes before play is due to start reserved seats must be relinquished if hall is full.

According to my SIL there is considerable moaning about this at the school gates, but it makes sense to her and me and seems generally fair.

Why can't all schools do this? What a great idea!

SmashedMug · 31/05/2018 12:46

That's a great idea! I wish our school would do that. You get the mums with big friendship groups reserving the whole of the front row. It should be first come first served (with a bit of leeway for anyone with extra nerds who could reserve through teachers).

Brilliant! I wish ours would do this, the ones moaning are the ones who camp out or sling their stuff there the day before to reserve the front rows because they know the
