Post surgery breast form in M&S for ladies after masectomy

Morning all, having recently lost my right boob to breast cancer I am now embarking on getting back to "normal". Found great, comfy false boob in M&S only to find they sell them in pairs. They are shaped, left an right so I an only use one out of each pack. They are £18 a pair and I'm not liking wasting money and not good for the environment wasting one of each boob with each purchase. Have contacted M&S but they are not listening to little old me. They need more complaints/requests before they discuss this further with their lingerie team. I'm asking if anyone cares about body image of post surgery ladies, if you could email Archie Norman( new Chairman) at M&S to voice your concerns. Please use Post Surgery in the subject heading. Any noise we can make on Twitter or Facebook would also help. From the bottom of my heart I thank you. Its been a tough year but I'm doing just great. If any ladies need to chat about mammograms or any breast cancer treatments i'm happy to listen.

Hello,
I know this isn't what you asked but I recently lost my left breast due to breast cancer and have found some fantastic breast forms on the Amoena website. I currently have the soft one while I was it for my scar to heal but they do a wide range including ones you can wear for swimming etc.
I hope you are recovering well from your treatment Flowers

Hi there, the soft ones from Amoena are good but mis -shape after a fair few washes. The ones from M&S are better apart from how they sell them. If they sold individual packs then ladies could buy what they needed instead of having to buy a pair. Just wish they were more understanding and had done their research before marketing these products. Most ladies only have a single mastectomy and therefore only need one falsie. If ladies have a double masectomy then they could buy one of each. They seem to be putting profit over function at the cost of us ladies. Annoying.
You take care and be kind to yourself. the non physical scars take longer to heal than the visible ones. Loving life and so much to look forward to, hope you feel the same x

Yes I agree and will email. I bought the pack from M&S and was annoyed that they were not sold singly as I only wanted a left one and it was a waste to throw the right one away.

Another instance of M&S putting profit above common sense.

So many of the reviews for this product on their web site say the same thing.

Queequeg07 · 31/05/2018 18:55

Thanks Julie - you take care too. Flowers

Hadjab · 31/05/2018 18:58

I can put in a word for you Julie, as I have very close contacts with the lingerie team there.

abbsisspartacus · 31/05/2018 19:01

Could you arrange to umm swap with someone? As a temporary measure?

Queequeg07 · 31/05/2018 20:23

I went to read the reviews but see on the website that the reviews are now unavailable.

JulieM2020 · 01/06/2018 14:35

Yep, but they are 4 different sizes. Would need to find a lady with the opposite side boob missing to me that was the same size. doable but takes some coordinating. x

Queequeg07 the reviews are available again, maybe they have been taking notice after all?????

I saw them last week - how ridiculous.
My hospital is quite good at replacing prosethises- I bought my soft one from Nicola jane.
They need to set up a data base so you can find your bosom buddy.
I would need right medium😃

JulieM2020 · 01/06/2018 14:39

Hadjab that would be amazing, thank you so much. If we can make a positive change for post surgery ladies that would be great. Thanks for caring x
