to ask which charity to fundraise for?

It's my birthday tomorrow and I would like to raise some money for a charity that does good work towards helping people with mental health and raises awareness. I suffer from anxiety myself and I'm in a position where I could have some reach and influence to do a bit of fundraising so I would like to focus on a cause close to my heart.
Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Anyone? I'm not from the UK and not very familiar with the charities here.

Papyrus are a fantastic charity who aim to prevent suicide in children and young people. They also support those bereaved by suicide and provide training for schools, universities etc.

Papyrus is a great charity. Please fundraiser for a smaller charity and not a big national one, they’re the ones who really need the money to make a real difference

Ask yourself what concerns you or your family - environment, animals, health/specific disease, international aid, rescue services. Google charities who do work in those areas and look at their websites. Also check them through the charity commission website to see what proportion of your money will fund their purpose. Personally I'd avoid the ones where CEOs earn vast swathes of money or any implicated in the sex for food scandal but some of the former do good work.

Rethink could be another option, and Mind always needs funds. Or the Samaritans. Or maybe a local MH charity?

Or, as you suffer from anxiety, how about Anxiety UK?

I would go for a small local charity - never a big name as your donation will go much further and they will be more appreciative!
