On how far you would go to protect your children?

I just heard a story about a man who arrived in this county for protection who had the choice in his country to either join a prominent gang and have to kill others but protect his family or not join and have his family killed... he refused to join the gang and then saw his wife and daughter raped and murdered in front of him and his young son.

Would you have made the same decision or would you kill to protect your own children?

Yes, I would. I would do anything for my family, including killing and maiming others. It because I would enjoy it, or would get a kick out of it, but because I couldn't watched them taped and murdered.
I guess that makes me a bad person and I'll go to hell, but at least my kids would be safe.

Oh God, that is tragic. Are you sure you want to use this real-life god-awful situation as a 'would you rather?' to pass the time on aibu?

I've not mentioned any particulars, I think this is unfortunately a more common occurrence in some countries.

I would have somehow forseen this coming and built a bunker in the garden that we could all hide in until all the raping and murdering was done.

Actually, I have no idea what I’d do. I’d probably be a coward and join the gang. But I really think you can’t guess what you’d do in circumstances that are so far removed from normal life.
