What does a dropped curb mean to you? Seeing so much of this at the moment- where wheels are in line with the start of the dropped curb- but the rest of the vehicle overhangs the dropped bit, so people really struggle to get in and out of their drives.

Dropped kerb means to me that no part of my car should be across any part of the drop.

CluedoAddict · 28/05/2018 19:45

According to my council that would be fine the dropped but is the flat bit only not the sloping bits.

firawla · 28/05/2018 19:48

I wouldn’t park like that, I’d say whole vehicle needs to be clear of the dropped curb. I’d be quite annoyed if someone parked like that on mine and just left it and went off!

parkingplonkas · 28/05/2018 19:49

But the flat bit isn't wide enough to pull out of and manoeuvre??

Sorry that was for Cluedo!

The dropped kerbs are usually at least the width of a car.

UnimaginativeUsername · 28/05/2018 19:54

If I were parking, I’d make sure that the back end of my car lined up with the wall.

MimpiDreams · 28/05/2018 19:57

It is illegal for any part of a car to go over a dropped kerb, this includes the vehicle overhang. A 'dropped kerb' includes the height transition stones. The car in the picture is parked illegally.

parkingplonkas · 28/05/2018 20:07

That's interesting Dreams. So many do this. You might be able to squeeze through the gap left (after the double overhangs!) but you can't turn - especially if there's a car parked on the opposite side of the road.
