To think I can revamp my horrendous sofa?

6 years ago we bought a huge corner sofa, it came with huge matching cushions etc, all of which are now out of shape, scruffy and stained. We need a new sofa but in the meantime I'm thinking I can revamp it by doing away with the huge matching cushions and just buying a load of smaller cushions from Next? DH says this won't work and it would look daft - AIBU to think it's worth a go to save over s Grand on a new sofa?

Could you recover the old cushions instead. Then they'd be the right size.

The actual cushions are all out of shape though, plus they're odd sizes - some of them could be covered but the main cushion is a huge rectangular thing

I see. I think it would work if you could find extra large ones.
I sewed together some chindi rugs and stuffed them to make extra large cushions but it depends on your taste.

It doesn't work. Better to just buy a new one to be honest. I speak from experience and tried everything but it still looked abused. I just got a cheaper set knowing that a load of people, 7 cats, 2 pitbulls and a chihuahua are going to take their toll. I say go cheap every few years rather than expensive every 5
