Like most true MNers, I love a good parking thread...

Just curious, has anyone actually ever blocked a CF in? Any links to the thread?

I'm always disappointed the owner turns up and gets to drive away scott free Envy (not envy)

I have, but didn't post! Long running disagreement with neighbours

Please post what happened in real time as if it's happening now. Don't forget the diagram. Thanks in advance.

How long have you got?!
So I live in an apartment, and have a parking space, which has the apartment number written on the ground in giant numbers. It is not outside my apartment, it's outside another house
This house don't seem to get the concept of private parking spaces and for the last ten years have used it, or parked behind me and blocked me in
I should add that exactly 28 steps away (I counted) there is on street, free of charge, no restrictions parking

There was one where the cf parked on a driveway and the poster was parked in the garage, she couldn't get out, so a neighbor blocked the driveway opening. CF had to come back for her car the next day.

There’s a bit of land outside my wall that I own.

Random CF insist on parking on it.

Came back one day and couldn’t get in my drive as they’d parked on the land and slightly over my drive. Next door’s son has a car-project on their bit of land.

I pulled right up behind the offender so they couldn’t get out. And went out.

My tactics have included
asking them to make sure visitors don't park there - didn't work, got aggressive
Asking visitors to move - didn't work, one visitor called me a bitch and said how were they supposed to know they couldn't park there
One visitor moved from blocking me in and as I reversed out, then drove into my parking space Shock
Solicitors letter - didn't work
Police involvement - didn't work
HA involvement - apparently it's not anti social Hmm
Screeching when I finally saw red - didn't work
Blocking them in my space, taking the doorbell off and having a nice long bath - worked for about a month

What happened in the one where the people had bought a disabled parking only sign and stuck it to their wall?

GertrudeCB · 27/05/2018 15:58

I blocked a CF in who had parked over my driveway .
My ndn's dad blocked in the other end. My dh's van was on the drive and this same CF had blocked us or ndn in at various times for a few weeks.
She returned and stood looking at it in a stupified manner. She knocked and asked if I could move - I declined to move until Is finished my dinner. She wasn't a happy bunny so happily explained that every time she blocked us or ndn in she inconvenienced us, so I was going to inconvenience her.
Apparently she HAD to park over our dropped curbs so that she wasn't late for work. By this time ndn ( and her dad) had joined us and ndn calmly explained that the blue sticker on the back of her people carrier was a wheelchair user sign for her DC, and that blocking her in had made them miss appointments.
The penny finally dropped and we got a perfuse apology.

Yes I did, but before I knew about mn so no thread. We lived in a flat and had a numbered parking space, but so many people ignored that. I used to block them in and wait for them to knock.

I also blocked in a black cab driver who parked on my drive. I parked across it and went in. He wasn't sufficiently apologetic the first time he knocked, so I shut the door and told him to come back later!
