AIBU to apply for this job?

The job is at, say, level 3. I've got a few months experience of level 2 but because I don't want to work full time I had to drop back to level 1. They recruited someone full time and I only did it temporarily. Level 3 is really the same as level 2 but managing more areas/people. The job is in a smaller organisation than the one I have experience of eg I was managing 4 people and the new job would be 7.

The job that has come up is part time/job share. AIBU to punch a bit above my weight on this?

Of course you should apply. Just try it what's there to lose?

Teateaandmoretea · 26/05/2018 21:41

Of course yanbu you have nothing to lose

AllMYSmellySocks · 26/05/2018 21:43

Yes apply. Surely the application itself will be good practise. Sometimes I think jobs that you think are a little out of your league are the best applications: It's depressing if you apply for a job you think you are too good for and don't get it but this way you have nothing to lose!

I did the equivalent last year, successfully. It's been bloody challenging but I've loved it and haven't (yet) messed anything up - if you feel that you could do the job, go for it.

It’s hard to say.
You could apply and be competing against other level 1s and be the best of the bunch
Or you could be competing with level 3s/level 4s who want to drop the hours/stress they have

Until you apply you don’t know.

I feel like I've got some skills that I can apply to some of the 'gaps' this organization has. Argh! Scary. I should apply, even if it comes to nothing it might give my current employer a poke.
