To ask where I find ginormous curtains?

Moving shortly and the house has utterly ridiculous windows.

Most are nearly 3 metres tall and 2m wide and most ready made curtains stop at max 274cm long as far as I can tell and I can't afford 8 pairs of made to measure curtains!!

Am I missing a trick or?

Do you have a TK Max near you? My local one has been selling 3m drop curtains for quite a while now

Bridechilla · 26/05/2018 10:43

I actually got some very affordable massive curtains from Asda, might be worth a look.

flissfloss65 · 26/05/2018 10:44

eBay always has huge curtains for sale.

Ikea curtains are often very long.

I totally didn't think of TK Maxx! Which is stupid as I bloody love that shop. THANK YOU 😊

I think you will either have to do get made to measure or at least get the really long ones from Ikea and get a few sewn together so they are wide enough

sexnotgender · 26/05/2018 10:49

I'll check out Asda thank you, another I hadn't considered.

Thank you I've looked at IKEA and whilst long they are quite narrow, am considering sewing 2 pairs together.

Ebay or find a second hand curtain agency near you, I wouldn't bother with TKMaxx. Go for second hand, we have the same sort of windows and it's much more economical as you will need interlined as in winter houses with big windows tend to be cold.

sexnotgender · 26/05/2018 10:57

Someone else has suggested second hand to us, will definitely investigate that.

I second second-hand.look in curtain agencies/ local listings/ charity shops.
Another place worth casting an eye is Laura Ashley / John Lewis in their seconds / faulty bins.i have twice bought curtains in this way , hand made for a fraction of their original price. One set very wide but not long and one set long but not wide! Obvs it is very hit and miss.
