To send out late thank you letters?

Have nc as am really embarrassed about this!

I got married last year. Our guests gave us money towards our honeymoon, which we had about six months later (proper 'trip of a lifetime' type destination).

I said thank you informally at the time (texts, whatsapp etc) but purposely didn't send out formal cards as I wanted the card to include a couple of pictures of our honeymoon, given that the generous wedding gifts had paid towards it. I made the thank you cards just before Christmas but then totally neglected to write and send them due to sudden events at work and then family.

I've just remembered the cards, but don't know what to do. Because of the purposeful delay in waiting until after our honeymoon, it's now been over a year since the actual wedding. I really want to send them, but AIBU? Is it too late? Or for thank you cards, is it better late than never? Confused

better late than never
I always appreciate a thanks you for what ever event.

Better late than never I suppose but yes, it is somewhat rude!

I don't get the "photograph of our honeymoon" (or indeed our wedding) on a thank you card. It seems a bit self-indulgent to me...a speedy thank you and a chat about the holiday afterwards would be my preference.

You'll need a mighty good excuse for the very late response!

Definitely send them. I’d dress it up as the one year anniversary thank you card - even if it’s a bit late.

Agree better late than never. I always end up putting these things off then getting stressed and putting them off even more but it's best to just get it done , even if it's a little late.
