To ask if all cats like drinking toilet water?

My cat is obsessed with drinking out of toilets. If she ever comes across a toilet with the lid left up, she will jump up on the seat and start lapping it up.

Obviously, we now have a house rule that the lid must be closed after using the toilet, but my two ds forget every now and then, and we find her having a long drink...

If she comes into the bathroom and sees the toilet lid is down, she'll meow plaintively beside it.

She has a bowl of water in the kitchen that is changed twice a day but I don't think I've ever seen her drink out of it.

Does anyone else's cat have this obsession?

One of my cats prefers to lick windows instead of drinking from her water bowl- honestly hardly ever see her drinking anyway! The other one prefers to pretend he's human and drink straight from glasses...
First cat is called Plop though because she fell into the toilet repeatedly as a kitten

I don't think my car ever did that. My cat loved rain water and when she was old and didn't go out much I used to collect rain water for her! She also used to prefer it from a glass rather than a bowl!

Our dog now has a drinking bowl in the bathroom as she would jump in bath and bark for a drink.

Previous cats have been tempted by the loo so we also have the lid down rule. Previous cat was a bit OCD and insisted on drinking from the bidet tap three times each morning.

My cat drinks out of the toilet. She seems to know it's wrong but I still find muddy little paw prints in the bowl😬

Yep mine does this, or out of the sink. I bought her a Catit drinking fountain which she loves, and she doesn't do it as much now!

I think mine likes to drink any water anywhere that isn't her actual water bowl. Toilet lid is always down, but unsupervised glasses of water, flower vases, soaking pots etc are all fair game. She also loves licking the bath after someone's had a shower/bath. Her own bowl seems to be the last resort..

Fresh water from the tap is not palatable to many cats, they prefer it to have sat for a while. Stop changing it so often. Or get a cat drinking fountain, the moving water might attract more interest.

Mine never drank from a bowl but would use a fountain (can take a while to get interested) but do make sure you use a filter to remove the stuff in the water that they don't like from a bowl.

Neighbours cat only drinks the green stale stuff from the outdoor bowl. Sometimes they don't like processed tap water or even bottled water.

My boy never drank from the toilet but began trying to get to it when his kidneys failed.

Its probably the moving water - try a drinking fountain, ceramic if possible (plastic can sometimes lead to feline acne, and some cats dislike eating and drinking from plastic bowls).

My boy cat will do it if the lid is left up, front paws in the bowl! I'm very careful not to leave it up now.

bath only - warm, while we are in it, for mine!

My grans cat would only drink from a full bathroom sink and would only eat cat food if it was stolen from next doors cats mind you she was spoilt and fed tuna constantly my gran even bought cat food and sent it next door but the little cowbag darling wouldn't eat it!

My cats are both fixed on drinking my water (and will climb on my head in the night to access it) and my shower/bath water. They are weirdos

One of our cats liked to drink the bit of water left around the plug hole!

Never heard of a cat drinking from the toilet. One of mine likes to watch the toilet flush. Both of mine drink from their glass.

Mine don't drink from toilet (as far as I know) but they do prefer their water to have a bit of taste to it, and preferably a nice green colour.

Nope. Mine likes his in a bowl, fresh from the tap. He's a strange one
