Sick of being Sick!!

Since January I had a day off sick due to stomach pain. It turned out to be a very stubborn kidney infection that took months to go away. I had two days off one in Jan and one in March when the hospital kept me in.
I had tonsilitis late March which was awful and I had to take the week off work. My boss was a total arse about it and I had to go through my union to sort it out.
This week the fucking tonsilitis appears to be back along with violent vomiting. I went in to work yesterday and came home and was awful.
I was up all through the night been sick. I've had to phone work and beg them to use a day in leui or annual leave. They haven't decided yet.
I am very embarrassed and i can tell work think I'm putting it on. My immune system is utter shit.
My job is really physical so it's a real struggle when I'm ill.
All my blood work has come back near on perfect so I'm not getting any answers.
I've had scans....they are fine.

I am also seeing the dr next week about painful ovulation and sore breasts so I don't know if that's got anything to do with it.

Poor you that sounds shit. It’s always everything at once isn’t it? Can’t you take sick leave rather than holiday or TOIL?

I was the same a few weeks ago, i was in early pregancy so has horrible morning sickness and tiredness, then got tonsillitis, as soon as that cleared up I got the flu, then that turned into a persistent cold for about 3 weeks! Only just starting to feeling normal. I always feel so guilty having time off work that I only took 3 sick days in total, although I only work 3 days a week so it meant I was off over a week. My mangager expected me to come back rested and fighting fit, but my usual days off were consumed with looking after 3 yo ds so it’s hardly like I had a week of bed!

If I take another day off sick this year I get a stage 1 warning. There are 3 stages but I would rather not have a warning under my name. I have called and asked if I can take a days holiday and nobody has bothered to ring me.
Gosh that sounds awful too. Poor you. I wonder if the immune system is down with all these flu bugs and it just spirals out of control. It's hard when you have kids to look after isn't it.
It's frustrating when you have people in work who have glowing attendance, who never catch anything.

I think disciplinaries for sickness are out of order, it’s forcing people into work that shouldn’t be there. Can you go to the docs and get a sick note? Would that help with your employer? Either way you need to rest otherwise you’ll never get better.

My dh is one of those annoying never sick people. Until recently he had NEVER had a day off sick in his whole working life. Not one! At the age of 38.
Then he had a day off a few weeks ago as he did his back in and couldn’t physically walk. But only 1 day then he was back to it. Twat.
