I live in a small village lovely close knit community where the majority of the children 'play out' every spring/ summer evening. This is lovely to see but can be problematic with regards constant shrieking/screaming and shouting throughout the evening flooding in the house through every open window.

We now have to keep our daughters windows closed on summer nights to block out the noise where possible. Again this isn't a massive issue just a bit annoying.

I know of other neighbors have complained of balls kicked against garages til 10pm, screaming, swearing, broken fences, stolen property and spoken to the parents. Nothing changes and the same behaviors are repeated the following night.

Now I'm lying in bed and there are a group of 12/13/14 year olds sat on the pavement behind our housing chatting a shouting volume. AIBU to think 9.40pm is really late to be out on a school night?!?

This is clearly going to be a very long summer at this rate...... Hmm

I agree it is too late, particularly on a school night, but I also think all of the behaviours are antisocial at any time of day or night. Teenagers shrieking is very wearing. Children playing nicely is not.
