Hi - asking for a friend who is thinking of moving to Belgravia - she is not from here (london) and has not many friends. Can anyone tell me if the schools around the area are good and if there are nice pubs/eateries? I have never been myself and dont know anyone who lives there personally. All i know about it is that is a lovely area and Roman Ab. lives there.

Thanks everyone :)

Well he doesn't live there anymore 😂

Have you tried a basic google? I hear that helps. Also pretty sure his house is in Kensington.

MojoMoon · 22/05/2018 23:59

It's extraordinarily expensive so yes, there are many private schools and fancy restaurants in the area.

the super rich rarely go to pubs but there are still a few about (for tourists or people working in the area). The grenadier is interesting as pubs go or the star which is famous for being where famous gangster went in the 60s. The gangsters of Belgravia are a different breed these days (like Roman)

I thought this was a baby name thread

I used to work around there - amazing houses if you’re super rich, but I think there are much better places to live in London if money is no object.

ArtBrut · 23/05/2018 00:12

Why Belgravia? It’s pretty dead, embassies, charity HQs, and loads of empty houses owned by the global super-rich who are never there.

Sprinklesinmyelbow · 23/05/2018 00:13

It’s pretty quiet. Between Victoria and Chelsea. Nice hidden pubs but they’re quiet too!

Frenchsticker · 23/05/2018 00:24

Belgravia is a non-area. There is nothing there. Hardly anyone lives there permanently, the only people I know with houses there visit them are based elsewhere and visit them rarely. There are a handful of nice pubs in mews streets (as mentioned above) but otherwise it’s dead. Can’t think of any restaurants in Belgravia itself. Anyone who lives there with small children will send them to prep schools rather than schools on the doorstep.

If your friend has the money (and no ability to use the internet, it seems) then tell her there are plenty of nicer places in London. Chelsea. Holland Park. Regents Park.

Are you taking the piss? Belgravia is THE place to live! It costs an arm, a leg and probably a few organs to afford to live there!
Schools, restaurants, shops are all totally top notch.
Just hope your friend has got at least 4million down the back of the sofa!
