I think it depends in what context.

Although I think it's praising and encouraging.

YANBU

It’s a wanky phrase which should only be said in irony.

“Hey Mama - you got this.” Envy (not envy)

Thisnamechanger · 22/05/2018 20:02

Urrrgh yes. Firstly, it ought to be you've and got is generally an annoying and usually unnecessary word.

"I say, you have this, chum!" Grin

margotsdevil · 22/05/2018 20:04

It seems to be a favourite of the MLM bots who float about my social media...

Aridane · 22/05/2018 20:05

What does it mean?

Itsonlyorangejuice · 22/05/2018 20:06

Aridane it’s a wanky way of saying ‘you can do it!!’

I don't mind it. I do have some sayings I fucking hate though.

One is this new fangled use of the word TRANSPARENT and TRANSPARENCY to describe something that is clear.

'There needs to be more TRANSPARENCY' some people say. FFS just say 'things need to be clearer.' I know it's not grammatically incorrect - but it just sounds fucking stupid, and it seems to be only the past 2 years that people seem to have started using it.

It's like some twonk used it to try and sound clever or different or quirky, and then every fucker caught onto using it! ARGH!

IMO the word transparent should only be used to describe a piece of glass! Hmm

firstworldproblems2018 · 22/05/2018 20:08

It’s very common to say this phrase as encouragement in certain sports, I hear it all time. Can think of worse phrases to be honest.

Eyeonthehill · 19/07/2021 23:01

I also dislike ‘you got this’ and ‘transparency’.
How about ‘unprecedented’ and ‘ramping up’ grrrr.
