From what I can see, a big part of this plot line involves accepting the fact that he has to be groped, using coping mechanisms to get through it. We try so hard to protect our children, let them know what is ok for them and not, then this comes out?

This is all over my Facebook today. I can't believe anyone is going to take their children to see it.

How did it get past the film censors ? Shocking.

The ads don't seem to show this part, so it looks like a kid friendly talking dog film. Lots of my friends were planning on taking their DC, they didn't realise.

I'm guessing it's supposed to be a joke, because dogs aren't allowed to be shown if they're not entire, and the judges do have a good old grope. They've humanised the dogs and projected human thoughts to this predicament.

At one point the dog has its balls waxed - I was thinking wtaf?

the dog doesn't want to be groped, but it knows it has to, so it escapes to it's "happy place" to deal with the trauma.

On the IMDB website it says Sex & Nudity is mild. Sounds like it's only a small part of the film (no pun intended)

One of DH's relatives (not in UK) posted on FB saying not to take kids to see this movie for that very reason.

From the movie poster it looks a fun kind of movie; I would never have guessed at the content :(

It's a 'laughing at farts and bottoms' type film. Having one's underneath groped certainly isn't a main theme of the film.
It is dross, but (in a similar vein to Daddy DayCamp) is the kind of naughty humour 8 year olds will find hilarious. It did not strike me as promoting grooming in any sense.
Plotwise it is very similar to Miss Congeniality but with animals and more silly rude jokes.

I read the same and was... startled, to say the least. I think it depends whether it is (as one rather hysterical blog had it) the main point of the film seems to be that the dog has to accept non-consensual handling of its bollocks, and this is the lesson the dog needs to learn, or if it's a throwaway few minutes.

Because I do agree that a film emphasising a character's need to submit to non-consensual, unwanted touching of the genitals is a bit fucking dodgy.

Hmm. Opinions seem to be a bit divided, with most of the shrieking and pant-pissing about THIS IS GROOMING OUR CHILDREN coming from superstitious rightwing bucketheads, so I think I'll hold off from any blog posts about it myself until I've seen the thing. DS will probably want to go because: talking animals but as he is 13 I think I can make sure it doesn't teach him any dangerous lessons...
