To be fucked off with BT

Our WiFi signal is so, so bad. I live in a little hamlet about 4 miles away from a village that has really good broadband and yet ours is fucking shit.

We pay quite a bit and only get 0.21 meg, it drops out all the time, we can't have more than 1 device on the WiFi at any one time and forget catch up tv, it just doesn't work.

BT say there's nothing they can do as we are getting broadband 🙄 I end up ploughing through my data just to MN.

I'm not expecting any answers really, but it really gets my goat that they can hook you in on promises of good broadband speeds when the reality is a pathetic whisper of WiFi.

Is it worth looking to change users? It can't be any worse than what we get now.

As BT provide a lot of infrastructure, I doubt most land line companies could provide any better... Maybe a mobile broadband provider might be for you? I see Vodafone are doing a guaranteed service or money off..?

That's what I thought, though I have a friend who said she got better broadband with Talk talk than BT. It sucks though.

Enquire about community microwave broadband. One school had fibre. CMB bounced off dishes on steeples to surrounding villages and hamlets round here. Works for them.

In one sense YABU - BT openly admit that you cannot hope to get rural broadband of any speed.....
but I entirely agree with you, YANBU : it is utterly crap. We are 3 miles from a major town, 300 yards from superfast fibre infinity, we even have said we want to pay to upgrade even if it costs yo connect but no they won't even talk to us it is the wrong exchange! Ours is miles away.
If you change supplier it is still BT's infrastructure so no point in changing, the only thing to do is keep moaning at them.
My neighbour has a mobile provider, he brough his unit to our house (but it didn't work) so not holding out any hopes for Vodafone but might try them next

You could look at Zen Internet. Best we have ever had.

I would second Zen - pricey, but top-class service.
