Exciting topic - house numbers!

I Want to replace the numbers on our house ie the sign that says 54 (not our actual house number Wink)

We have two sets in our house at the moment - brass and scrolly and I hate them

I want something a bit more modern, but not too edgy, but all my googling comes up with really old fashioned ones or ones that look like they are a sign on an office block.

Can anyone offer me any inspiration ?

I like slate house signs - if you google you'll find lots of online companies.

You can choose rustic edges, modern squared edges, metallic lettering, special fonts, all shapes and sizes....pretty much whatever floats your boat. I think they are classic and very smart.

Ours is plain, with the letters etched and painted in silver-grey - it also has the house name on it.

Have you tried etsy? I got mine from there and most sellers will work with you to create whatever you want

There are lots of company's out there that will make you bespoke numbers / names for your door.
Be careful about the size you order a friend of mine ordered some a year or so ago and while the numbers look nice and fit on the door where they were meant to go they look far to big , I would highly recommend making a template / cardboard version ( perhaps even paint them ) of the design you want and sticking them to the door for a few days to see how you feel about them .

Nice clear ones please! I spend my life peering at house numbers, or peoples bins, or counting houses. It can massively delay an ambulance as well, a good one is to try driving past slowly and see if it's easy to read both day and night!

Is there a font, colour and style you like? That might be a good place to start.

Another vote for black slate and white lettering. Smart and readable.
