Aibu to have called the school

I always feel slight unease when I see teens hanging about when they should be at school but like most I do nothing however I was in the park today and saw a young girl in her uniform not far form the school

And the things she was talking about the person sitting next to her about she seemed very very venerable and felt that actually I just wanted to the school to know we’re she was so I rang them and described her

Dobut they will do anything but the things she was saying was so sad and seems like she is one of the ones who really needs to be in school

The conversations were about
Planning a baby with boyfriend and how much tax credits you may or may not get

About gangs and a stabbing

And about drinking with her mum

I know I have been a bit nosey and most like I have been unreasonable but the things she was saying were just so sad 😞

I don't think you were unreasonable. Had she been saying it in school and a teacher overheard those are all safeguarding concerns aren't they?

I think you did the right thing - I'm sure the school will Follow up from your call - at the very least it will flag up possible safeguarding issues that may or may not form part of a bigger picture if you see what I mean. I know my school (teacher) would be very grateful for the call.
