We're moving house from one London suburb to another, and have a detailed affordability spreadsheet covering everything we need/want to budget for. I've been able to work a lot of things out precisely, like stamp duty, increased council tax etc, and the mortgage costs will be fixed for the time being, but there are a couple of guesstimates I'd like to run by you all for a sanity check.
- £5k to cover conveyancing (for buying & selling), surveyor, bank valuation fee & removals.
- £10k to cover complete internal re-plastering (walls and ceilings) and repainting of the new house - a 1800 sq ft 4-bed semi.
