My DH has told me it's awful. But I use it and have had for 30 years.

AIBU?

It reminds me of my Grandma and Joanne Lumley swears by it.

Astral and Pond's cold creme remind me of my Mum Grin

UpstartCrow · 19/05/2018 22:42

If you look like a Shar Pei then I guess yabu to swear by it. Is it the smell he dislikes? What does it smell like?

SleepFreeZone · 19/05/2018 22:49

Astral really agreed with my skin and Joanna Lumley swears by it!

Gilead · 19/05/2018 22:54

I have a large pot by my bed, love the stuff!

bridgetosomewhere · 20/05/2018 08:34

What do you use it for?

Lottapianos · 20/05/2018 08:39

I've used it for years. My dry skin loves it

Mooneyes · 20/05/2018 08:51

It's the only thing I use. Best ever

MsHomeSlice · 20/05/2018 08:58

what has it got to do with him?
and if it is the smell he hates why has it taken him 30 year to complain?

ArchchancellorsHat · 20/05/2018 09:09

I use it as a body moisturiser (really dry skin). I love it for that. HIBU. Though it did make me look like an oil slick when I tried it on my face. And gave me big spot. Why doesn't he like it?

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/05/2018 09:10

I love it, slap it on all over

BusterGonad · 20/05/2018 09:19

I love it, it's super hydrating, doesn't bring me out in eczema and I can use it in my 9 year old without worrying about causing damage. I adore the smell too. It's so cheap but definitely not nasty! Grin

NancyDonahue · 20/05/2018 09:34

It's brilliant as a foot cream. I end up with horrible cracked heels if I don't use it regularly.

bridgetosomewhere · 20/05/2018 13:25

Ooh I’ll get some for feet/legs and hands

Branleuse · 20/05/2018 13:34

why on earth has your dh got such a strong opinion on your moisturiser?

Mc180768 · 20/05/2018 14:12

I've only been married to this husband for six years. He doesn't like the smell. I love it and lather myself in it. So pleased to read that I'm not alone.

Grin

It is quite a fragrance! There are other less scented creams that are just as good, it reminds me of my gran....

BusterGonad · 20/05/2018 22:38

I gave my boy (9) a bath tonight and then I covered him in astral, he smelt so good and his very dry skin was glowing! I live the stuff and might even take a tub on holiday with me in July to use on my face and as an after sun!

ERipley · 20/05/2018 22:40

It’s a bit too greasy for me.

sexnotgender · 20/05/2018 22:41

I love it, been using it for years and frequently get compliments on my skin.

UpstartCrow · 20/05/2018 22:42

But whats the fragrance?

BusterGonad · 20/05/2018 23:04

The fragrance is a bit powdery and old fashioned, not lavender. I can't put my finger on it!

UpstartCrow · 20/05/2018 23:06

Is it lily of the valley? If so I'll give it a miss.

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/05/2018 23:09

It’s brilliant stuff but it’s got parabens in which I hate and I’ve now swapped it for Nivea soft which is as good, if a bit lighter. Just as moisturising, cheap, available and versatile.

When astral ditch the nasty chemicals I’ll take it back!

BusterGonad · 20/05/2018 23:09

Not really, it's more like the smell of Nivea blue but more floral. It's just a nice comforting smell. Soft, slightly floral and powdery.
