to think megan is going to get restless in a few years

She seems lovley, just not royal material. If she's used to grafting her way in holywood and as a WOC how difficult that can be I just don't see how she's going to be satisfied with a life of just shaking people's hands and all the royal protocol.

She's a much lower down royal than Kate is. Her kids aren't going to be future kings/queens. I'm sure she'll manage fine.

That's a compliment not being royal material! You need to be boring, do nothing and not hold an opinion to not rock the apple cart. Dianna wasn't royal material and she caused so many problems for the family.

What is Royal Material! Mabey she might have a quieter Royal life like Zara and Peter Phillips and Princess Eugenie and Beatrice, I don't think the spotlight will be on them as much as Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge, basically more senior Royals.

Leave the woman alone. She’s 36 not a young girl, I’m sure she knows herself. She’s clearly always had charity work high up on her priority list, now she has even more opportunity to do that, I think she’ll feel empowered by it.

Thing is with Diana she was drafted in as a suitor for Prince Charles, and to be perfect breeding fodder. These was very little love there I suspect, especially Prince Charles words on their engagement. He would have rather married Camilla Parker Bowles. I think this was the problem, not being married to a Royal. Prince Harry and Meghan are together because they love each other, it's a love match. If tgey wanted to, The Queen, Prince Charles could have refused the marriage and married Harry off to a blue blooded lady from the aristocracy.

Personally, I think the Royal Family needs a lot more "not royal material" blood to marry into it in order to reform it and keep it reasonably relevant for the future.

I'm not anti royalist, but it does strike me as rather a stultifying institution in it's current form. I think people like Meghan could really help there ....... if they let her and don't try to stifle her too much, and if she treads slightly cautiously at first.

It isn't the first time a Hollywood actress has married into a European Royal Family. Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier of Monaco all those decades ago and it seemed a successful union.

She'll be fine. As an actress she is well used to appearing in public and being scrutinized. For centuries actresses were princes' and kings' mistresses. This is s great improvement, and a breath of fresh air.
