Royal wedding coverage

AIBU to complain about the blanket coverage of the wedding
I may have a quick look at her dress but the coverage is ridiculous
I want to catch the news. Sky news/BBC news/R4 and R5 are all covering the wedding in ridiculous detail

Yes today is a day to get out and enjoy the sunshine rather than watch TV!

KnockMeDown · 19/05/2018 08:49

You can catch the news on the BBC app or website. Then turn your TV off.

Whilst not wanting this blanket wall-to-wall coverage may not be altogether unreasonable, it is somewhat unrealistic.

Nuts if you ask me! No need to have started broadcasting at such an early hr - it's just weather presenters bumbling around desperately trying to make lucid conversation with nutters those who have camped out all night. A broadcast starting 45 mins before ceremony would have been more than enough.

UnicornRainbowColours · 19/05/2018 08:58

I actually totally ageee, I’m having a little party etc and will enjoy watching it but for those who don’t wanna watch how boring that every channel is covering it.

FesteringCarbuncle · 19/05/2018 08:58

I thought the radio would be the usual stuff
I don't think R4 and 5 need to give the same coverage

I remember the day of Princess Diana's funeral. I went to IKEA as it was the only place open
It was reported that half the country watched. The other half couldn't access any TV or radio at all

This is the news, OP

dayinlifeof · 19/05/2018 09:03

It's amusing me slightly that those of you (me included) who don't want to watch it are obviously doing so.

I'm off out for the day to somewhere remote...enjoy the sunshine Grin

Day of the funeral we took the opportunity to clear out the gutters; we lived on a busy road, so it was far easier to do it when no one was around. The neighbours ' children were playing 'dead princesses '.

Queenoftheblitz · 19/05/2018 09:04

I'm watching it all - am having pizza for breakfast.

SouthWestmom · 19/05/2018 09:06

Yeah I'd like to give it a serve but I love the radio. Trouble is I suspect they are all after viewers/listeners so have to cover it.

Weirdly I've always been pro royal but this marriage and attendant kerfuffle has made me rethink. I would prefer a meritocracy and a president now.

Butterymuffin · 19/05/2018 09:06

Oh for heaven's sake, every channel isn't covering it. There's BBC2, Channels 4 and 5 that aren't plus people could watch stuff on iPlayer. If you still don't like any of that then switch off and/or read a book for one day!

(I'm watching Grin)

SouthWestmom · 19/05/2018 09:06

Swerve

Saltcrust · 19/05/2018 09:09

Already switched off Buttery! Will watch actual ceremony + procession though. I live abroad and it's even the top story on the radio here too!
