Hi I'll do long story short.
We've been invited to a relatives house on Sunday and I'm dreading it! The family don't really invite people over and if they do it's usually cancelled anyway. Last time we went it was awful the wife is very hot and cold. she pulls faces behind people's backs and is generally unpleasant.
They have a huge deal of sympathy from people because they sadly lost a child 8 years ago. For this reason I try to be understanding but I find the atmosphere awkward and uncomfortable. Recently was the child's birthday and the dad said he didn't want any fuss ie texts etc so people obeyed their wishes to have his wife phone people and be abusive to them over lack of texts. Therefore it's even more awkward
