Reusing a pushchair

I have a 3 year old girl who as a baby, we bought a pink stroller (planned no other babies at the time so everything pink) . We have a 8 month old boy and have 2 prams but my mums care fits neither , AIBU to just ask her to use the pink stroller on the rare occasion it's needed rather than fork out for another to barely get used?

I think it's fine, what does colour matter but everyone disagrees

I would. It is ridiculous to buy another one in a different colour. Your baby won't care!!

Swissgemma · 15/05/2018 21:05

Use the stroller!

MumInBrussels · 15/05/2018 21:06

I think you should absolutely use the stroller you've already got. Your son isn't going to care, or even probably notice, that he's in a pink stroller. And everyone else will adapt. If they can't get used to the terrifying prospect of a boy in a pink pram, life must be hard for them, and they can buy you a new stroller themselves if it's that traumatic for them.

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 15/05/2018 21:08

The colours are more for the mum than the baby! I find baby boys dressed in pink or worst, pink dresses, ridiculous but the pram is the same as your changing bag: an accessory for you.

If you have one where you can change the hood etc, you could also buy a different colour second hand on ebay, but would you change your car for your baby?

RedPanda2 · 15/05/2018 21:56

Boys can wear pink it won't change their gender Hmm

Daddynosharing · 15/05/2018 22:07

Use the stroller, it really makes no difference what colour it is!

InDubiousBattle · 15/05/2018 22:10

You'd be crazy to but anot her purely because the one you have is pink!

NoSquirrels · 15/05/2018 22:13

Tell your mum to use the pink o e or buy another one herself.

Troels · 15/05/2018 22:15

Use it. I had a pink sling when my son was a newborn. Someone did ask about it, with him being a boy, I said I'm wearing it, he's only sitting in it. When I picked it I never thought about it.

TestingTestingWonTooFree · 15/05/2018 22:20

Use it

deste · 15/05/2018 22:21

My DD is expecting her first in September. My niece has very kindly given me her pram and buggy to use at my house. The pram is not exactly pink but it’s not far off but whatever she has I am going to use it because the baby won’t care.

fitbitbore · 15/05/2018 22:24

Use it the kid won't know or care.

WineIsMyMainVice · 15/05/2018 22:28

Are you for real? You’re considering not using a perfectly serviceable item purely because of its colour?!

TheFatkinsDiet · 15/05/2018 22:29

Yanbu at all! It would be bonkers to buy another one. He won’t care and neither will most other people.

RubiaPTA · 15/05/2018 22:33

My son chose to have a bright pink buggy... What's wrong with pink? I don't particularly like it but it doesn't matter

w12newmum · 15/05/2018 22:56

Another for use it

liz70 · 15/05/2018 22:58

I saw the thread title and thought, Christ on a bike; it was only old cot mattresses we were warned about when I was having my DDs. Confused

LightDrizzle · 16/05/2018 00:20

My eldest daughter spent most of the first 6 months of her life in blue babygros kindly given to us by ex DH’s boss who had two sons. We didn’t have a pot to piss in and she looked lovely in blue. I bought her lots of blue clothes until she was about 8 and become obssessed with Baby Spice and went all pink on me Confused.
I can’t see an issue with the pink stroller.

moita · 16/05/2018 00:24

Same!

I wouldn't think twice about using the pram. Save your money for something else.

PickAChew · 16/05/2018 00:26

This is more of a lesson in not forking out £££ on pink stuff, anything.

MammaofA · 16/05/2018 09:25

Thanks for the advice! Definitely wont be replacing
