Sushi-knife and fork (lighthearted)

I know IABU but my colleague eats sushi with a kife and fork and it really annoys me.

I am not more annoyed because she ate a whole tube of pringles to herself and didn't share

Ha ha! A friend and I went to as really nice (expensive) sushi restaurant one evening. I had checked in advance she liked sushi and was happy with the restaurant choice - she said yes. Then, when our food arrived she wouldn't use chopsticks or knife/fork but ate it all with her fingers!! Was slightly surprised, but said nothing as it's up to her how she wants to eat it I guess.

SgtFredColon · 14/05/2018 13:50

I do that! Fingers I mean Blush

DeepfriedPizza · 14/05/2018 13:52

Chopsticks in a restaurant, yes. Fingers for supermarket sushi surely?

I can’t use chopsticks and fork doesn’t work it all falls apart

SgtFredColon · 14/05/2018 13:55

Google says fingers acceptable phew!

Shadow666 · 14/05/2018 14:02

Either chopsticks or fingers are fine. Fork is very odd. Sushi should never be cut with a knife. That's just wrong.

AviatorShades · 14/05/2018 14:31

It's fingers not chopstix. Just sayin'.
and, ok,it's written chopsticks to be really correct.Grin

I read the finger thing just this morning. funny how things happen..

Hisashiburi · 14/05/2018 14:36

Eating sushi with fingers is the cultural norm...it's actually strange to eat sushi with chopsticks in some places

NatalieRushman · 14/05/2018 14:40

bluejava you're actually supposed to eat sushi with your fingers! I use chopsticks though. I'd be Angry at the pringle selfishness too op

RexManning · 14/05/2018 14:52

You eat maki, California rolls etc with your fingers.

Traditionally nigiri are eaten with chopsticks but fingers are perfectly acceptable, especially for a Westerner.

That is how you are meant to eat sushi.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 14/05/2018 14:58

I laugh my head off at people trying to eat maki rolls with chopsticks.

Fingers are fine. Chopsticks for 'wet' sushi.
