Thread inspired by a thread... Recently someone was asking if being well off helps you look good and loads of people mentioned that shopping in high end stores contributes to looking better.

I would love to buy some beautiful clothes but I suspect I've clearly got no taste because I can't seem to see the difference between clothes in places like New Look/Dorothy Perkins and clothes in the Fancy Shops.

People are talking about quality of cut and the hang of garments etc, which all sounds very promising but I worry about spending money on the wrong things. I also worry about being sneered at by the fancy shop assistants as I'm wearing the wrong stuff to begin with? (This has happened, I scuttled out of the last designer shop I was in because I was being looked at like I was something someone had just stepped in)

AIBU to think that I'm clearly unfashionable and ignorant and it's best for me to just stick to my Tesco own brand high street clothes and leave the nice stuff to the very glamorous? Blush
