We're booking a last minute holiday for 2 weeks in 3 weeks time.

We're stuck between Spain (Majorca), Turkey, Corfu or Florida.

I've never left the UK, so I have no idea. It will be 2 adults and a 3 and 4 year old.

Which would you choose?

Corfu 100%.

Donthate · 13/05/2018 20:17

Where in all of the places? Puerto Pollensa in Majorca is beautiful but the weather could be iffy.

IggyAce · 13/05/2018 20:17

I would choose Majorca purely for its short flight time. I have been to Majorca with my DCs when they were 18mths and 5years we had a lovely time.

junebirthdaygirl · 13/05/2018 20:19

Second Majorca because of the dc. We had fab holidays there with small dc. So easy. Keep the rest for other times when they are older.

Chopchopbusybusy · 13/05/2018 20:20

Depends on the resorts in Majorca and Corfu. Some lovely. Others not so much. Not Turkey. I’d pick Florida. Or Majorca or if it’s pollensa or puerto pollensa.

LooseyInTheSky · 13/05/2018 20:20

Florida. But I am a member of a rollercoaster enthusiasts club so I've got a large motivation.

Birdshitbridgegotme · 13/05/2018 20:21

Corfu! The Greeks love kids and the island is beautiful

Crunchymum · 13/05/2018 20:22

I didn't like Corfu or Majorca (been to the latter a few times) never been to Florida.

Turkey is lovely, depending on where you go.

Chopchopbusybusy · 13/05/2018 20:22

Actually I missed the ages of the DC. I’d still pick Florida provided it's just a beach resort. They are too young for theme parks IMO.

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 13/05/2018 20:22

With such young DCs I wouldn't want to fly to Florida, especially as they're too young to remember it. Majorca or Corfu for sure, just find a family friendly hotel with a great pool, near the beach, walking distance to shops and restaurants and you'll be grand.

Mouikey · 13/05/2018 20:22

Maybe do Florida and the parks when they are a little bit older - its a very long flight and not the most relaxing of places, unless you go to the coast, then you might as well go somewhere close with a shorter flight!!

FadedRed · 13/05/2018 20:22

My personal choice would be Corfu, because I prefer Greece to Spain, but given your circumstances then Majorca would be my recommendation for the following reasons:
Shorter flight and, depending on where you are staying, most likely shorter transfer.
Not having to police the toilet paper in the bin with two small children.
Not Turkey because recommended travel vaccinations (Hepatitis A as minimum), and toilet paper bins again.
Not Florida because of long flights.
But that's just me, I dare say lots would disagree.

bert3400 · 13/05/2018 20:22

Corfu is lovely and because it's start of the season everyone is super freindly.

HarryDresdensLeatherDuster · 13/05/2018 20:23

Turkey every time! But most of MN will disagree Grin

Ceecee18 · 13/05/2018 20:24

If it's Orlando in Florida then definitely Florida! My sister was 3 when we first went there and it was amazing to see how happy she was, she really believed that it was all real. It's such a great age to take kids there. She slept most of the way so the flight wasn't a problem, and she was not usually a quiet child!

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 13/05/2018 20:24

With young kids, definitively Majorca or Corfu. Then it depends where exactly on both.

My personal preference is to avoid being stuck in a hotel room with young children, so I always go for at least a couple of rooms with view.

MiddleClassProblem · 13/05/2018 20:25

I think for me it depends on budget. I’d rather a better hotel etc in Europe than an average one in Florida.

But then again I’ve been to Florida but not any of the others (done mainland Spain). So I’d rather go somewhere different anyway.

I think if it’s your first flight go for a shorter one. When it’s only a couple of hours, you have about half hour the take off end and 10/20 mins the landing end when you are strapped in and/or just taking it all in. With a 3 year old and it being your first time you might prefer it as there’s less time you need to entertain and field particularly if you’re not sure yourself if what to expect.

HarryDresdensLeatherDuster · 13/05/2018 20:25

Faded vaccinations? For Turkey?????

Newtothis2017 · 13/05/2018 20:25

Corfu

Notevilstepmother · 13/05/2018 20:25

Are you sure about vaccines for Turkey.

Leeds2 · 13/05/2018 20:26

Corfu or Majorca.

Sparklesocks · 13/05/2018 20:28

Corfu for me, it’s so pretty and the atmosphere is so chilled and easy. You can swim in the sea and have nice walks exploring the landscape.

I also love the food, strolling along to the tavernas to have lovely grilled meat and fresh veg and a carafe of wine. Heaven!

Notevilstepmother · 13/05/2018 20:29

I think any of them would be good. Personally I would go for a shorter flight with children.

Els1e · 13/05/2018 20:29

I choose either Majorca or Spain. Long flights with young children would put me off Florida, plus many of the activities are more geared to up children a bit older. I loved Turkey when it was just DP and me and the people were lovely but I wouldn’t be as confident with young children. Having said that could be completely wrong.

Farahilda · 13/05/2018 20:34

I checked on the MASTA site, and HepmA is recommended for Turkey, and they also suggest you consider Hep B too (and rabies).

Other recommended jabs are covered by NHS schedule.
