Went to a clinic regarding my adult acne. I was recommended a light therapy treatment that I’d need 2 treatments a week for 3 weeks.

I agreed.

New therapists did the treatment. Then said I didn’t need to have the light therapy done that frequently and what I need instead is a certain facial.

Two times she tried to flog me 6 facials for £600. What a bargain.

Is this shit? Why recommend a treatment then once I’ve had the first one say actually this is better Hmm

That is shit. But who did the initial consultation? A doctor or a sales person?

Letsgorangers · 13/05/2018 09:16

Both therapists but I did see a doctor there too.

He said the light therapy would help. He mentioned microdermabrasion too but they aren’t £100 a time.

So he didn't say light therapy was best? And you went with it because it was cheaper?

YABU to blame them because you picked the option best for you on price.

Letsgorangers · 13/05/2018 09:23

No he recommended lots of things. First was to get a referral from my gp which I’m in the process of doing.

He said he could do a laser treatment, but would cost £2000 each time with unpredictable results.

I mentioned I was recommended the light therapy. He said that was a good choice too.

The facial she was talking about was never mentioned by him.

And by some completely likely coincidence does the second therapist get commission for selling you another product? That's how a lot of private medical and quasi medical clinics work and you are, in the most respectful way possible, being a little naive enough if you forget that.
