Hi everyone. Please help.
Since having my baby 6 months ago I've had an itchy clitoris hoodSad and itchy vulva. I've used canasten with some effect but it drives me mad! It's worse when I have a lot of discharge and it's so distracting!

See a gp/nurse and get swabbed if over the counter remedies arent helping. Its could be and infection that requires stronger treatment

LooseyInTheSky · 12/05/2018 23:24

Salt in my bath water always helps my itchy vag.

Bambamber · 12/05/2018 23:26

I agree with going for a swab to find out exactly what's going on to find out the best treatment. GUM clinics can also do swabs

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 12/05/2018 23:28

Definitely go and get it checked out/swabbed.

abbsisspartacus · 12/05/2018 23:30

Have you had a look? You need to see to treat it

Check your washing powder hasn't changed go pantie free for a bit see if it helps but ultimately this sounds like you need an expert

FranticallyPeaceful · 12/05/2018 23:32

I wonder if it’s from stretching? But you need to go GP or GUM clinic or similar to be checked.

Try some Burts bees nappy rash cream or baby butt paste if you can get your hands on it - the zinc oxide is wonderful for all kinds of things

One side looks a bit swollen. Inside looks ok but it's so uncomfortable. Just normal salt water loosey?

Canestan sensitive wash might help with the itch. I've had similar issues because lynx had found its way on to my sponge I use for intimate areas.

Singlenotsingle · 12/05/2018 23:54

You don't let shower gel get on your privates, do you? Its not a good idea.
And Savlon is good for itches in intimate places.

oojamaflipsy · 13/05/2018 00:00

Singlenotsingle what are you supposed to wash your bits with? Just water?

Singlenotsingle · 13/05/2018 00:04

Yes of course. The skin is very delicate and urine is mildly antiseptic anyway. It's like all this shaving nonsense - my niece thinks it hygenic to shave. But it's not, the fuzz is there to protect the vulnerable area and if it goes, you're wide open to germs from outside

Bridesmaidinchief · 13/05/2018 00:08

You can also buy vagisil wash which has no scent etc. I use that to wash my vulva / pubic area because shower gel can be a real irritant. But I think you need to see your GP as they may be able to help with proper medicine.

rosieposies · 13/05/2018 00:37

Sounds like bacterial vaginosis or thrush to me @Bigspottyape, pop to the GP or practitioner nurse for a check up, it sounds like you need antibiotics. Try swapping your shower gel for emollient, like aqueous cream, it makes a big difference and is soothing.

Bigspottyape · 13/05/2018 09:01

It's better when I shave too!
