Stick lady love left to get on with it while he takes off on an adventure.

Yeah all alone in her draughty tree house single parenting. Poor old stick lady love!

MsVestibule · 11/05/2018 22:45

No way! Absolutely no way! He was very much a family man, desperately trying to get back to his family tree.

Yes!!

The Gruffalo needs to get a secure door on his cave, however, to avoid any more midnight adventures from his Child

I always think of Stickman as a bit like a MAMIL who gets caught out on a ride that is blatantly outside his capability.

There is a whiff of weekend athlete about his running.

tonsil · 11/05/2018 23:07

What an absolute walloper.

Combedmyhairthisweek · 11/05/2018 23:08

Just learned what a MAMIL is, love it. Stickman turns up after stickladylove has done all the wrapping, decorations,...

Homemenu1 · 11/05/2018 23:10

Yes did a runner and then realised life wasn’t greener on the other side and wanted back in

Poor old Mrs Stickman keeping everything together on her own and then he waltzes back in and becomes the hero.

UterusUterusGhali · 11/05/2018 23:20

No!

He was not in control of his destiny!

God I feel tearful thinking of his poor stick lady love.

umizoomi · 11/05/2018 23:33

Totally agree

The whole book talks about poor stick man.

Yet stick lady was left high & dry with 3 kids until he swanned back in on Christmas Eve like a fucking hero.

My sympathies are with her-- not him ihave thought about this too much p--

Ohyesiam · 11/05/2018 23:35

It’s obvious he’s a victim in this. Just having a penis doesn’t cast him as the villain you know.

SadieHH · 11/05/2018 23:36

Ah but when he struggles to the top of the hill and finds that what he thinks is the family tree is just two trees looking like one is heartbreaking

Alwayslumpyporridge · 11/05/2018 23:37

Feckless fucker, she didn’t get chased by dogs, kids etc did she? She should totally LTB (leave the branch)

Alwayslumpyporridge · 11/05/2018 23:39

Morning wood isn’t everything Stick Lady Love, stay strong, sending unmumsnet hugs

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 11/05/2018 23:40

Ohyesiam

I wouldn't call it a penis so much as wood.

VerbenaBorensis · 11/05/2018 23:40

alwayslumpyporridge perhaps she should have chopped it off and upped sticks Grin

SimonBridges · 11/05/2018 23:54

Yes I know, ‘not all sticks’ and all that.

Keepittenten · 12/05/2018 00:17

Solo parenting Gruffalo? Bit of an issue with safety, leaving the cave open though.

It’s the little boy who snips the Paper Dolls that always makes me sad.

Stick man loves his stick children three and stick lady love. He hardly enjoyed his ‘adventures’, not like he was off exploring like Tiddler or the snail with the whale.
